Wow, some pretty good ideas. Let me see.....I like....them all...haha. My favorite is the one of the girl with her face lit & he's kinda on the side. Like the ending, hands walking down the path. Oh Yeah and the swing and the bench. Thanks for sharing.

First part of the story is we got an oil change without any oil being put back in. The argument has been on-going since July 31st as to the damage done. Davis says none, we say extensive. Davis finally agreed to have an independent mechanical shop drop the pan. This was done at Ebel's and each party took oil samples at the same time for analysis. Over two weeks went by and we hadn't heard anything. Dad went to see Bert who was gone so he dealt with Dayle (auto & Lube Mgr.). Dayle was surprised this wasn't resolved and promised to look into it. Dad then ventured through Davis's lot and couldn't find the Envoy. Went down to Ebel's and couldn't find it there either. Decided to go into the shop. As he's speaking to the Boss and the Boss comments somebody has finally come down to pick it up. Dad is not the picker-upper, but low and behold, behind him enters Dayle looking for the Envoy. Then we never heard from them until 5:05, when Dad receives a call from Bert telling him there seems to be a funny noise in the engine compartment and asks Dad to come down in the morning. This we did, along with Uncle Victor and listened to the consistent ticking (at this time oil analysis were compared / ours shows many parts of chrome & silver, theirs, need I say, minimal). They are confident nothing is wrong and some cap on the connecting rod (I think) has been put on backwards. Uncle Vic explains this cannot happen and their mechanic Rick says yes, always....they also is not a good combination. Tim Davis is around so back into the office we go. We give him our options. He will check into it and get back to us. Again days pass and Dad once again decides to find poor ole Ruby. That is when he found her, stripped of her heart (her engine, in case you didn't figure that out) and that brings us to the last update. Today the comment was "you have something to drive, don't you?"

We're missing part of the story!?! Why is your Envoy even at Davis? And I'm guessing they did not agree to replace your engine.... What are they doing? Stripping it for parts?
Also, check out the website. We have a new gallery for the engagement shots we took!!! I think they turned out great! These are just some of them.

Tx, enjoy!
Dad's objective for today was to find the Envoy. Well, low and behold that red truck is missing again. He can't find it on Davis' Lot AGAIN. Went in the service bay, only to see it way up high on the hoist. Oh, we have no idea why its up there cause there isn't anything wrong with the engine. Oh, just a minute! Let me correct that statement. The Envoy is on the hoist and the ENGINE is sitting beside on a stand. I don't know, last week they were looking for another vehicle for us and now we have what looks like pieces. Words were exchanged and we are now waiting again and the patiences are wearing rather thin. Stay tuned for another episode.....lets just call it Ruby's Travels by Tim Davis.

Good eye Lori! Connie you are so busted. I just thought it was some weird runners. Who in this world would wear socks with flip-flops? Not even Dad. He just tries to get away with socks with sandals. Hummm......daughter like father????

Excuse me.... Connie... are you wearing socks with your flip flops in your "windy" picture?? I thought something looked weird!
How do you like the new name for hurricane? Hurrying Ike. I see you still have a lot of work to do. Still trying to get the "Little Boy" out of Gavin. Of course it doesn't help when he's got a buddy doing the same thing. Glad he was able to find some humor while he was waiting for Ike. Kinda sad to have to look at your house half boarded up. Probably a good thing your landscaping isn't too mature so you didn't have to contend with up-rooted trees. I'm thankful you guys decided to buy inland and north. I like the pond sunset pic. At least it looks like there is still some peace in Houston.

Got some good shots there L & L. My favorite is the couple and the bench. Good imagination and composition. Do you find your shot ideas are getting better and easier?

House....boarded up....i wanted to do graffiti on them before we took them down...but I didn't.
Cramming all the backyard stuff into the garage.....
Gavin and PJ wasting valuable flashlight batteries....before the storm.
Sorry about the audio in this video but I was talking on the phone with Rucille. David Weekley Homes was called by at least 4 of us in the neighborhood about cleaning up their work sites. We were all assured that the sites would be cleaned. Thursday there was a cleaning crew that came by. They picked up things like plastic wrap for insulation, moved a dead tree to the back of the lot, etc. The left things like used saw blades, 2x4's with nails sticking out of them, foot long pieces of rebar. The next day they came back and to my suprise, this is what I saw the guy cleaning.......

Well, i'm sure by now, we've all heard from Connie. They are all ok. Sounds like some damage to the yard (trees/fence), lost power for a day or two.... Thats all I really know.
As for me.... We shot a wedding this weekend. Our first, semi real wedding. There was still another paid photographer there but we did the getting ready all the way into the dance portion. We didn't do any of the posed shots this time. Still unbelievable how much time traditional photographers spend on portraits/family shots. It was at least 4 hours! Thats extremely extreme!
We have completed the engagement package. Oh... this couple IS booking us for their wedding in the Mayan in April!!!! Con, this is Kerri's friend. Kerri and Blair are going to the wedding. They may be our first visitors!
Anyway, here are more samples. She said she likes funky, so we gave her funky!
Thank goodness Connie and Gavin are safe. Bet you never thought in a million years you'd be putting up with a hurricane. In Canada we get wind and the odd tornado which normally touches down in some barren field or pasture. In Texas the storms cover almost 500 miles across and takes half of the gulf with them. Could that be why they say everything is big in Texas? I prefer my dry and sometimes hot Medicine Hat and "Banana Belt" temperatures in the midst of winter....and I still like the snow. Glad you survived the storm without any major castastrophe.

Just to let everyone know that I texted Con this AM and she said they have no power. Just thought I would let you all know. So, I think they'll become very good friends with some of their neighbours now since Con set out a few days prior to ask about their generator availability.
Ok, chat soon,

Lori, those pics are awesome! We'd really like some family pics done....you should remember your camera next time for some shots! The engagement ones are really good too!
So, I'm getting a bit concerned with Ike. Con did think I was crazy when I asked about boarding up the house but it sounds like that is what she'll be busy doing the next couple days. Sheesh..maybe company always just makes an excuse as to why they canno come out there....you are right, this is a trend! I continue watching sales for flights so that we can rebook sometime soon.
Not much else new here. Our place will be on the mls market by late tonight. For real! We'll see if we get a sale or what will end up happening. I guess on that note, I have more cleanup to do. in fact, I think I could just clean forever. The more I clean, the less we move!

Poor Addyson looks like she's in trouble. And the other, the saying could be "Oh my gosh, am I in trouble Mommy?" Like'em both.
So Connie, you might be getting a visit from Ike. Lori hope your paying attention cause you'll probably see more of these than Connie.
I went for my last hepatitis shot today, just in case somebody is interested. Other than that, Davis GM seems to require alot of time, patience and probably money.

Well, its just a waiting game right now. The forecast for the path of Ike keeps changing. Seems like hour to hour it changes. Anyways, right now, seems like it will hit Corpus Christi. A little ways from here....but there is one zip code right on the coast that has already been put on a mandatory evacuation. If its like the one that hit New Orleans last week, mandatory just means that its very highly suggested. There will be a curfew and if your caught out after that time you're going to jail. Its assumed that the person is looting, thats why. I don't know though if its exactly the same circumstances as when Gustav hit LA. As of right now looks like Ike will hit landfall late Friday night/early Saturday morning....who knows how long it will last. What a nice experience it will be for our company thats coming here from Canada! They arrive tomorrow, just in time for it all!! Hopefully we don't lose power because we have tickets to the Texans game on Sunday!!

Anniversary wishes go out to Kim and Billl.....like 5 years already. What was the most memorable part of their wedding day? Well quite naturally the wedding itself, the bride and groom, the luncheon with both families (very nice)...the opening of the treasure chest when Kim blurted out, "Can you see down the front of my dress?", Grandma A&J dancing with Billy or maybe it was the person who walked into the screen door or maybe it was the "Siamese Twins". What about you guys?
Lori, sounds like the garage/garbage sale went great. At least your 850 bucks richer. Hope advertising Maple Leaf hot dogs with each sale was a hit.

So, my first experience with having a garage sale is half way done. Man.... that made for one really long day!!! But, totally worth every minute. All that stuff has made us about 850 bucks so far. Wowsers! Location, location, location! We're about 5 houses off a really busy street. I think we had the whole neighbourhood over today sifting thru our garbage. Anyway, 850, not bad at all!
Mom, I did save those frames for you.... but I FORGOT about the camera.... I'm so soo soooo sorry. Ooooopsie. I meant to. It just slipped my mind. Sorry.
Happy 30th Birthday Lori Dee!!!!! Oh my goodness Kim, she's catching up to you. Hope your day went well.
Lori your pic of Addyson looks really good, but then I'm the Grandma and Addyson always looks really good. But really Addy looks like she's posing. You know like Grad pics with that color of background. I really like the photoshop bit. Look out Ottenbreit! Have you signed up to any photographer class for the Fall?
Uncle Guy and Auntie Peggy were here this week. She sees to be doing fine. Darin is coming home tonite. Can't wait. It's been a l-o-n-g time since he's been home.

Who watched the game? I'm sure Edmonton fans watched till the end. Calgary sure had a tough time. Better luck next time! And what about those Roughriders? Blew away the Bombers in the Labor Day Classic. Sure would hate to be a Bomber fan.
Darin, you lucky duck, two holidays in one year. Hope Houston is ready for you.
