Finally!

Glad to finally hear from you two, or three or four or five.....You and Lori have quite the animal problems. Lori apparently sees stray dogs everywhere and now you have stray cats everywhere, but mostly where you don't want them. Are cats sacred in UAIs? Yeah, and Sisqo enjoying the treats, guess what? Watch for parasites now. Are these SAND-STORMS a common appearance or is it like once in 6 months? At least you have your own stuff now.
Getting to see Tiger Woods sounds interesting. Any guesses as to how many sand traps are on the course?

I tried posting something....why isn't it working??

Hey Family…..
Well, here it is….another update from me. We still have no internet at home. Its killing me!!! Seriously!! Everything is going good in the house. Everything is coming together, slowly but surely. We’ve had a few setbacks…but nothing we can’t deal with. On Friday, Gavin pressure washed the front of the villa, the covered parking area, the sidewalk outside our villa, the whole patio in the backyard, and the BBQs……then just as he’s about to finish, we look up….Gavin says, “Looks like its about to rain”, and I say “Wait a minute, that’s SAND!” Sure enough, the wind picked up and we had a wicked sandstorm. It probably lasted less than 30 mins, but what a disaster it made!!!! OMG!!! All the pressure washing was ruined!! From all the wind and sand whipping around outside it made a nice layer of the fine stuff all over EVERYTHING in the house too. Yesterday, I spent the whole day sweeping and mopping. So much fun. I still have to get to the dusting. ICK!!! We’re also having a few issues in the media room. We can’t get the projector in the right spot. We’re trying to find a projector stand here and can’t find one to save our lives. We’re still pondering how we can fix the problem.
So, funny stories here…..there are LOTS and LOTS of stray cats around here. Anyways, I was getting sick and tired of them always in the yard, so now when Sisqo sees them I let him out and he chases them. I think he loves it. Anyways, there is this spot in the back fence that they’ve been going in and out of so we’ve closed that up. But of course, they still get in by hopping the fence. No biggie. As you may or may not know, cat poop apparently tastes good to dogs. I have caught Sisqo digging up cat poop and eating it probably 3 times. GROSS!!!
On Wednesday I was cleaning upstairs and I needed something downstairs, so down I go. All of a sudden I see a cat go bolting from the porch area and run out the patio doors in the kitchen. I had the screen door on but it doesn’t latch. The cat broke into our house, the screen door was open about a foot!!! I can’t even imagine what would’ve happened if Sisqo would’ve seen him. Comedy!
On Saturday, I was washing the frames for the patio doors upstairs. I was in the room we made into a gym and I looked over at the punching bag (which is just leaning against the wall right now because we don’t have a mount for it yet), and I notice a pee stain on it, and you can see where it ran down the bag and rested on the gym mat. Well, for any of you who know Sisqo, I have never seen him lift his leg once…..ever in his life….to pee. The only solution I can think of is that there was another cat in the house and he sprayed on it! What else could’ve happened??
Last night took the cake though…..I’m tossing and turning in bed….2am. At about 315am I hear a noise downstairs. It just sounded like a crack when the house is settling so I thought no big deal. About 5 mins later I heard another noise, it sounded like silverware being dropped, or an old fashioned alarm clock (that’s how I described it to Gavin)…..so I woke Gavin up. I told him about the two noises. He goes sneaking down the stairs spying on anything that could be moving. He comes back up and tells me there is a cat downstairs. You have got to be kidding me!!!!! He goes back down and scares the cat. Of course, it goes bolting out of the house, the same way it came in….through a window in the bathroom attached to the guest room. I’m thinking the window came open during the sand storm, because I did find it quite dusty in that room especially.
Anyways, that is the entertainment in our place so far. We’re planning on going to the Dubai Desert Classic (golf) in a couple weeks. Tiger Woods will be here. Should be fun. We can’t take pictures though….we’ll see how it goes. There is an event the night before that you can take pictures at, so we’ll see if I can drag Gavin to that too. J
Well, that’s all for now, I’m sure you’re sick of reading too!

Peace out y’all!!
Conster, Gavinator, and the monster Sisqo.
…..might as well sign off for the stray cats too….I feel like they live in my house anyways…..

Technology?

Well Lori & Connie, you both seem to like being on the outside looking in. Right now, I would say Mexico is winning the race in technology. Connie I bet you never thought you'd be without the internet for this long. At least you do have a place to call home now. I'm anxious to see pictures of the villa. I must say I was glad to see a post from you. Are you learning to love UAE yet? Ya, and I can't imagine you driving the Hummer....that would be so big & clunky.

Post from UAE

Hey Family.

Quick post to let you know that I still have no internet at home. I'm at a coffee shop right now, and these catty women sitting next to me keep looking over at me like I'm doing something wrong. God. Get a life!! Hehehe.

Anyways, just letting ya'll know that I"m still alive, just no contact with the outside world!!

Dar, did you get my text on your Bday.....I sent you one.....I promise. The big 3-0! yikes, right? Just think, next year, you'll be closer to 40 than you are to 20. Gross!

Nothing really new here.....its the Dubai Shopping Festival right now, so hoping to take advantage of some good deals in the next couple weeks. We still have to get some stuff for the new villa so we'll hopefully be getting some good deals.

Gav was just in HOuston (so jealous) for 10 days. Got back last night. I did drive a tiny bit when he was gone. Me driving that monster H2....quite interesting. Wasn't too bad, but its huge! I didn't go anywhere I would have to park in an official parking spot. I just parked in a sand lot.

Anyways, I think its time I head out of here before I get kicked out. I don't know how long you're allowed to use the wifi for. I'll post pics of the house soon.....as soon as I get internet at home.

Talk to ya'll later!!
Love ME!

No Fun

Ah, Darin you take all the fun out of it. I was seriously going to get you a snow shovel. I know, moving is no fun, but this will be the last "easy" move. Now you will accumulate many treasures, just because you have the space.

I thought Lori's video was great too! It is just "So Mexico". I love the 3 dog picture with the "Yoga Poser Dog" in the background. I think it's hilarious. Not only did she get the 3 looking at her (humm...easier than kids in a photo), she has the other one all twisted-up in the background.

Hello hello, lar that slide show is awesome i love it. The song you picked is awesome. Good job on it.

So to keep everyone in the loop in our life, we are busy trying to get all packed up for our big move. We are both sooo excited to move... oh ya by the way i got a snow shovel already. lol we are also packing for Pheonix. That was our christmas gift from andrea's mom.

anyways just woke up from my night shift. so take care everyone see you all hopefully soon.

In this Part of the World....

We are freezing and shovelling snow every time we turn around. Woke up to about 4 inches of the fresh stuff this morning. Bet Darin can't wait until he is a home-owner and gets to shovel the white stuff before going to work. Maybe his house warming gift should be a "snow shovel" (snow blower will have to wait until he can afford it...LOL). Kim & Bill probably aren't laughing either because it is record snowfall for Regina....I mean that seriously, this is the most ever recorded. So Lori, if your thinking wearing pants means COLD, come back home!!!

By the way, I can't believe it has been 2 years.

Hola

Hi. Update from Mexico:

It's been really cool here! It's soooo nice. I wore pants to a wedding the other day! Aaaah. My next weddings are all SweetFire!! It will be so exciting to go ahead with my new biz! Bizness cards are on their way from Calgary. I will get them this week! My friend Trish is bringing them. And she has a bunch more stuff that I've been waiting for. Can't wait!

Speaking of Calgary. I think Aunty Pauline & Uncle Terry are here now, for two weeks. I haven't called them yet but they are staying at the resort of my very first Mexican wedding shoot. Come to think of it... that was exactly 2 years ago!

Finally found a decent priced tennis racket. But there was only one, so still waiting on my friend Stephanie to find one too... so we can go play.

Anything happening in other parts of the world?

Hey Lemieuxs

Hope 2011 is entertaining so far. I'm rearranging furniture again and buying more decorations. Had someone in the other day to price out some custom furniture. Nothing fancy but it'll be exactly what I need! Haven't gotten a price yet, but hopefully that works out.

Here are a few pics from my first non-wedding couples shoot.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

OK, who all stayed up until midnight to ring in the New Year? Dad & I did. Sorry their wasn't any party whistles or new year's hats, but there was a toast to the incoming year. The most excitment was watching the ball drop around the world. Connie, we did see a flash of the Dubai extravaganza. Our show was provided by a house down the street who set off fireworks at midnight. Here's a nice simple toast, Happy New Year and may 2011 bring you much happines and lots of money to keep you happy. Cheers!
