Just chillin'

Just hanging out on my patio, enjoying the evening breeze. Maya is piling her toys on my laps in hopes that I'll throw one of them. Soon she'll give up and throw them for herself. When she shakes them "to death" and lets go they go flying across the room. :-)

Started taking down Xmas decorations. I will un-decorate the tree tomorrow.

I had 3 small family sessions this Xmas season. They were fun. I'll post some samples when I'm done working on them. Went to Cancun for one of them and stopped in a Home Depot. I need to go up there more often. Playa really is a small town and Cancun has so much more when it comes to stores.

Oh, my friend Aristi scheduled me a tarrot card reading as my Xmas gift. I will do that shortly. I'll be sure to go in a good mood, then I'm sure she'll tell me all good things!

Christmas in Mexico

Here's what I did Christmas day! Obviously I would have preferred to be with the family but this was a close 2nd place. I bought myself a necklace, and a henna tattoo. Merry Christmas to me! My holiday season has been very different but I was able to get into the spirit and make the best of it. It was great... and continues to be!

Well, now that the hype of Christmas is over, we start the new hype of New Years for a week. Gavin and I just booked our tickets for a NY party.....Las Vegas theme. Not sure how that will work out...seems a little outrageous for Dubai, but I guess we'll see what its like. We're going with the same Aussie friends that we had Christmas with. Should be a good time.

Little Teva Beva! This seems to be a recurring post around Xmas time Mom! Teva is Santas little helper!

I am going to a friends place for xmas eve supper tomorrow. Thought I'd bring along some Nanaimo bars. After finding some interesting ingredients I attempted to make them tonight. I have to compromise on a few ingredients... so we'll see how it turns out ;-). Well, so far not so good. Attempt one, failed. Apparently I boiled it instead of stir on medium heat. I boiled the butter right out of the chocolate. They seperated and wouldn't mix again. Ah, live and learn. I didn't know that could happen. Hm.

So, tomorrow I will go buy more butter and try again! I was only on the 1st layer so didn't waste too much. Second layer should be interesting. Heehee.

Christmas Tree

Finally got the Christmas Tree decorated. It's red and silver with candy cane ribbon. Teva was a great help...in helping to snag anything hanging down. At least this year she didn't try climbing the trunk. Might I add wrapping gifts with a 20 pound cat standing on the paper doesn't work very well either. Maybe she thinks it is the rattling of her treat bag. Then just to add a little bit of challenge I added ribbon. So far she's pawed them and now she thinks chewing on it is also acceptable. Lori, do think Teva will ever out-grow this childish behavior. Bet Jeter hasn't attacked your parcels! Guess maybe this is just a warm-up for when Addyson comes Christmas Eve.

Deck the halls

I don't know about an iphone app... considering I barely use my phone it doesn't affect me much. But, I do think you can blog by email. Lemme look and get back to you.

As for me, just got off a full full week of weddings. 4 of them! In a week! Too much. But its over now and it wasn't so bad. Only one left for the year. Then I have a couple small shoots and a bit of a break until the end of Jan. Oh, Kim... are you still thinking of coming here? Beginning of Jan would be perfect!

Yoga, subway, then beach planned for tomorrow! Boss is giving me a little break. It's been a bit chilly here so need to go warm up :-). Seriously though, it's really nice... sweater and pants needed at night. So nice. Kim, I'll have you know it hasn't rained in like a month tho... until today. It rained for about 10 seconds.

Had the maid in today. Sent her off with 20 bucks after 6 hours. She earned her money. Man, I kinda feel bad. I'll have to give her an Xmas bonus next time!

Finally buying some decor for my home. Shelves and picture frames... still need to be hung and filled... but I'm 1/2 way there already!

I have my xmas tree up and tonight put up some more lights in the kitchen. It's Christmas'y in here now.

Thats about it for now. Jumping in the shower, then an hour on Spanish... and nightly night. I guess that means I should say Good Morning Connie :-)

Blog anyone?

wow...I finally got into this thing! It has been complaining about my acct and I never had time to look into and today when I tried, all the whining was gone.
Anyhow, we had turkey at thanksgiving and I plan that Mom will cook us an Xmas feast as well! Maybe she doens't know it yet though! Addy is already asking for pumpkin pie when we go to Gma and Gpa's place. She is a demanding lil girl.

Well, instead of adding presents under the tree, we've been removing them. Little does Addy know that the gifts she keeps giving up don't actually belong to her. She has to give up a present under the tree for every night that she doesn't sleep in her bed like a big girl. So far, she hasn't slept an entire night since we've returned from Grey Cup (owww...the pain of witnessing another Rider loss) on Nov 29th!! She was on a 2 week record prior to this.

Not much else new. I'm almost done Xmas shopping and we've had quite a few weddings in Nov and now Xmas parties in Dec.

I guess I need to post some pics or videos soon. Hey, does this blogger thing have an iphone app?

Reading Material

In case you're interested, here are some links regarding stuff thats going on here. UAE is making Canadians get Visas before they come here, instead of just issuing a 30 day visitor visa upon arrival. Anyways, I have to get our marriage certificate attested before I can get a residence visa, and I don't know how long that takes. Not sure what happens in the new year if I need another extension (which I probably will). Maybe Tesco will have to send me back to Canada until I have a residence visa approved. (oh, and I haven't read these yet).
