Good...

I think thats good news. You already made up your mind to move to another part of the world and try something new. I'd hate for you not to get the opportunity if your house doesn't sell. At least if you go then you'll get the chance to see what its like. Nothing in this life is permanent anyway... so may as well switch it up and now and again. It can always be undone if it doesn't work out. But, in the end, at least you'll have done something only a few can say they have. That'll be quiet the story for the grand kids... Gma and Gpa used to live in Dubai... cool!

After a year

I have finally decided to cut 3 pairs of pants that I brought with me. My fake lulu's are no longer serving me as I have not been able to wear them in practically a year. Oh, except when I travelled to Houston.

It's kinda nice to know that after collecting so much dust I'll be able to wear them again! aaaaah, they're awesome!!

Also, bought the kids a fetch ball and been going out for a daily game just before sunset. Maya is CRAZY for this game. We bring treats to coax them back but only Nutty is interested. I practically put the treat in Mayas mouth but she is panting so hard she just spits it out and jumps for the ball instead. Ah, shes funny. Next time I will bring the camera and get some funny pics!

Man, Maya is FAST! My little Mexican grey hound!

Dad

Dad was way better today. Again the morning didn't start off good. Spoke to the big white horn right off the bat. Saved his energy for later & actually cooked & ate 2 poached eggs with toast. I made him Supper. His favorite Kraft Dinner & a piece of minute steak. How much? Well, let's just say Addy would still be hungry. Topped it off with a small piece of carrot cake. Here's another visual for you. He hasn't shaved in about 5 days!

PIzza?

You ordered pizza? Looks like Dominos...yummy. Now either you were having a party or they didn't understand "uno". Haha, either way sounds like a new experience for you. Way to go!

Here's PROOF!

This just in.... I CAN order a pizza over the phone... all in Spanish. Wow... I didn't even panic or ask for anyone who could speak English. I'm not sure if any of my readers can fully appreciate how much work that takes. Spanish + telephone normally equals scary. It's hard enough to talk in Spanish in person... and then at least you can resort to sign language and body language. Not so much on the phone...

So, big step for me today!! And proud of it! Whoohoo!

Update

Just talked to Mom. Dad had another nap and woke up feeling better. He is sitting up, eating a pudding with his regular velcro doggie stuck to his leg.

HI EVERYBODY

Connie better get use to the snakes. I hear desert snakes are more plentiful. Haha. I don't know, I just made that up.
Dad came out of the hospital Friday. Yesterday he did quite well. Took his meds, had a little bit of food. Went to bed tired, but feeling not bad. Today is a different story. Got up feeling sick and puked. Went back to bed, nothing to eat, no juice, no food. If he doesn't get up soon, I'm considering calling the ambulance. I will update you later in the day.

Nice to be home??

Hey Family.....

Its been awhile.....huh? I've been keeping busy with work. Gavin was home for a short while with a quick trip to Costa Rica in the middle. He left today to get back to the desert. Hopefully soon Sissy and I will be joining him....but we'll have to wait until the house sells. Cross fingers that I don't go insane first!!

So Dad, how are you feeling? Hopefully starting to feel better. We're all thinking of you everyday. I'm hoping everything goes well with the doctor this week. Let us know how everything goes.

I told mom this already....but haven't told anyone else this yet. We had a giant snake in our driveway a couple nights ago. Don't think he was poisonous...but nevertheless he was about 2.5 ft long and much too fat for my liking!! He's dead now....THANK GOD GAVIN WAS HOME!!!!

HOME SWEET HOME

I think that's what Dad would call it. Came home around suppertime. Then I ran around picked up his prescriptions.....23 pills, an enema & suppositories is the daily dose. Still very weak. Just downed his "pill breakfast" and a pudding cup. I think Addy would like his new-found diet for the next little while. Weighted himself this a.m......any guesses???? Some things probably won't be quite as entertaining here as the hospital but at least he will have Cosmo to keep him busy during the day. The sun is finally shining today so that always helps to lift spirits.

Thanks again Darin & Andrea for the beautiful flowers. They are absolutely georgous and this is probably one of the first times all roses actually open. I've had to take several "minuits" to really appreciate them.

Bells & Whistles!#!#!#!# Whou-Hou

Lori, your the winner!
Maybe rather than a book, it will be short stories. The second will be, "Mona Lisa". As well there is a story to go with it.

Second Colonoscopy is back. The good news is it doesn't look like cancer. A biopsy was still taken. More good news, the blood markers are improving. The bad news, another increase in medication, still on the liquid diet, Dad thinks he should come home, colitis can look very good and take a sudden change where the bowel must be removed.

Told him your all thinking about him. He likewise says Hi. His cell phone is usually on.

ooooh

Has Dad come up with is next book title? At least this one shouldn't put the cops on his trail.

Hint #2.

"Life After Peanut Butter" has to do with Dad's next project.

As far as the diet....hoping he can get a handle on getting this under control, then he will have to change his eating habits. Option Number Two is surgery and still having to change his eating habits. Either one is not what he wants, however, tomorrow sometime his doctor is coming in & letting him know what the colonoscopy revealed today. Surgery would remove his large bowel and be replaced by a colostomy.
Going early to the hospital to get the news at the same time. Hopefully Doctor doesn't come before 8:30, which is when I plan on camping out in the hospital room. Feel free to say a prayer or two.

Life before coocoo pills

Who is coocoo for coco puffs??!?!

Mom, are you dippin in to Dad's pills?

Can you please explain how his diet needs to change? Are you saying this was caused by Peanut Butter?

Life After Peanut Butter

Can anybody guess what the title is all about?

Liquid diet still. Preparing for colonoscopy tomorrow. Number One outcome means surgery. Number Two means changing diet. Hoping for the second option. Means the colitis is still treatable with careful selection of diet after this episode is under control. He is back on IV. His potassium is low. I'll update tomorrow nite.

Monday

How about that, Darin is just speeding thru this RCMP pre-testing. Sounds like he's got a good head start.

And now on to Dad. Finished work at 6:00 pm, then went up to the hospital. Had to do some running....well fast walking cause there was a storm brewing, complete with thunder and a little lightening. (sorry you missed it Lori). Entered the room and to my surprise Dad says, "you have to wear a gown & gloves". Well the warning was just a shade late cause I had already gave him a kiss. Oh well, I did as instructed afterwards. I"m assuming this is because of the steroids & his immune system. If he leaves the room it is the same story. As far as him, he seemed better, mentally anyways. Had his own little comedy show in the bathroom. You'll have to ask him to elaborate sometime when he's not in the hospital so the nurse's don't overhear. He also really thinks he's pretty special cause the nurse says hospital toilet is like #2 fine grit sandpaper, so she brought him these premoistened wipes about 12X12 & quite thick. Whatever it takes to keep him happy. Still liquid diet. Says he is gaining weight from the amount of pills he ingests because it sure as hell isn't from the soup. Soup is so clear doesn't even get caught in his falsies. Colonoscopy still set for Wednesday.

So what are they goin to be looking for on Wednesday? Something more specific now? Well I hope everything gets better. Soon. Also to keep everyone updated to life in Calgary as Mom and Dad know I ran the PARE test for the RCMP and needed a time under 4min and 45 seconds, and passed that on friday with a time of 4min and 5 seconds. So the next step I was scheduled for was today on monday, so I first had to get the day off work and that is always a fun chore to begin with. So anyways it was a long tiring interview but at the end I convinced him that he better recomend me continue in this process. So on to the next step. I am just waiting for my recruit officer to get a hold of me and tell me what to do next. The stress in Calgary has risen in the last few days. Lorraine, who is Andreas great aunt had a heart attack and is in the hospital having tests done. Also while Andrea's sister was camping with her two boys, well they found out that the youngest one Hudson is allergic to peanuts or shrimp not sure which one yet. But he had a severe allergic reaction before he went to bed. They actually had to call an ambulance out to the camp site. But everything is good with them now that they know there is a problem.
But I gotta go for now, hope you get better dad.

Dad Updte

Watched the hockey game with Dad tonite at the hospital. Had another doctor in to see him. He arranged for a colonoscopy for Wednesday. Hope this doesn't aggravate the condition more. He is now on a liquid diet and they have changed some of his meds. He is also resigned to the idea he will be in hospital until at least Wednesday. The good news is he doesn't seem to have lost any more weight. Probably due to the I.V. he received. I'm working tomorrow, however, will go up to the hospital around 6:30.

DAD

Ok, for those of you who check this Blogging Spot, the doctors have finally listened and your father has been admitted to Medicine Hat Hospital. He will be OK, they just have to get him "pumped up" again. He is dehydrated, however, they have begun an I.V. on him. Looked better tonite. He's still very tired. Took a lot out of him. Was a great diet strategy....where else can you lose 15 pounds in 7 days. At least tonight he ate a little more for supper than 2 poached eggs & a banana all day. Hopefully with a good nite's sleep and more drugs, he will be grouchy enough for them to decide to let him go in a day or two. That's about it. Take care and we love you all.

Hola

Hey fam. Hows life? Here it's great. It has been really hot out lately. I was "off" for 2 weeks. No weddings but still working on my boudoir stuff and a wedding package. Went back to work yesterday to the Moon Palace resort. An easy 5.5 hour shoot.

The kids are all doing well here. Maya had a bit of kennel cough a little while ago. Apparently the vet didn't give her that shot when we asked for it. So, she will be visiting a new vet that I found. She speeks perfect English. We like her alot... except when the needles come. I hold Maya but she reaches back to bite the needle. Poor girl. I guess this is practice for when I have to watch my children get needles and cry.

Well, as you all know, I'm coming to Canada soon! I can't believe I've been gone for more than a year and haven't made it back to Canada yet. Thank god for trips to Houston though so I could get little reminders of the real world! I've very excited to see Addy, go camping, and SHOPPING!!!! Whoohoo!!!

Ok, thats it for now. Hey, feel free to just post about what is happening where you guys are....
