What?

What do you mean, the courage? Now if you were shooting naked males, I could see a problem a little more so. Just think of the models as being Connie (only not as mouthly...haha Con). Should be fun seeing what kind of results you get. Worse case scenario, re-takes or photo shopping.

Guess who..??!?!

Guess who!!??

Well, we sure had enough rainy days that I should have been able to get at least one good pic with Kims eyes open!! It's funny though... because I never used to be able to see that some had closed their eyes. Now I can!

I did't get specific approval to post this image so I hope the model doesn't mind.

The hard part now is getting the courage to "shoot" others. I have a few willing subjects in the condo complex. Hope to get one done next week.

ps, its thundering outside!!! whoohoo!!

Connie?

Told Dad to come look at these pictures. First he says Connie, then he doubted himself,....was a little confused....told him it was your new style coming out. I had a sneak preview while in Mexico so I wasn't as surprised. They did turn out really good. Of course not all your subjects will be as photogenic. Should of tried Kim out cause we all know how hard it is to get a picture of her with her eyes open. She would be the real challenge! You'll have to make sure I get a few copies so I can brag about your camera taking really good pictures........haha, isn't that a choker when people say it was the camera....what about the talent which composed the picture....I know there's more to it than the equipment...the equipment is only as smart as the person pushing the button. Good work!

Lemme know your thoughts. Think I can make a career out of making "regular people" look like models???

Blue or Red

Ok, Lori, what color were they? Kinda different from our sparrows. Think they'll be back?

I spy...

Guess what I saw from my patio the other day?!?! 2 parrots fly by. Can you believe that??? Who would have ever thought I'd be living in a place where wild PARROTS fly by???!! It was so cool!

Wow, What A Nice Surprise!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. It was really a nice surprise to turn on the computer this morning and see "Mother's Day Wishes" from a couple of you guys. Hugs and kisses are always welcomed and returned back to you. As a Mom, I always wish the best for you everyday. Not much I can do for you from little old Medicine Hat, but we do think of all of you each and everyday. At this stage in my life about all I can do is say a prayer or two to keep you safe and continue on life's journey. Even though we don't tell you merely enough, we love you and miss you. We are very blessed to have such wonderful children, in-laws & grandchild.

He IS alive

Happy Mothers day to all the baby mamas out there! Most importantly the Mama that had me as a baby! Thanks Mom for everything. Not sure if I can call tomorrow because I have a wedding shoot. Wish I could be there to give you a big hug on your big day. Here is second best:

Other than that, I have booked my flight back to Canada!!! I'm very very excited to get back to some cooler weather for a little while. But only a LITTLE while. Gotta cool my core. Then I should be good for another year of humidity!

So, I'll be leaving Cancun September 4th. Spending one night in Calgary on a layover, then heading to Regina. Dar, I might need you to come get me, if you're not working, but we can figure that out later. Kim will be gone camping that weekend but I will have my hang time with friends while she is away. I will enjoy the Labour day classic with Tyra and gang (probably on a big screen somewhere - but if I cross my fingers maybe the ticket fairy with drop me a little surprise... who knows?!?). Then I'll spend some time with Kim, Bill & Addy when they get back from camping.

Not sure exactly when I'll be heading out but next stop is camping with Mom & Dad. Dar, not sure if your hours will change by then... but likely we'll be going during the week. I think. Hopefully you can come!! Oh mom... you should bring my hammocks!!

Then, next stop Calgary for SHOPPING!! Gonna see some friends. Lots of gals having babies so I'm sure I'll get thrown up on at least once. Hopefully a girls night to be had with some of the old ball team!

Then back home on Sept 19 with all my new goods, a smile on my face, and... uh...probably a few pounds heavier from skipping yoga for 2 weeks.

Looking forward to it. See everyone soon!! Except you Con... but maybe i'll see you even sooner!

Ok, signing off... getting bitten by mosquitos out here. Bed time.

Happy Mothers Day

Hello all, I just wanted to be the first child to say Happy Mothers Day to my mom. So, Happy Mothers Day Mom.

Not much new at our end here in Calgary, just praying for some nice weather!! Work is going good for both of us. My new bid starts on May 16. I will be working friday saturday sunday and monday. all day shifts. So I dont know if camping on the weekends is in my agenda, and vacation time is already used. So hopefully I will at least make it out with mom and dad for a week day camp trip. But we will see.

Ps. the Happy Mothers Day is also extended to my OLDEST sister Kim.

Trip to Mexico/Lori

Seeing how Lori thinks nobody reads this, here I go.

Kim & I got back safe and sound and slightly tanned from Mexico. We were lucky enough to hit a week which Lori only had a short shoot. We had great fun! We landed in Cancun just shortly after lunch, but by the time we cleared customs it was probably 2:30. Lori picked us up and we headed towards the Hotel Strip, did some shopping & had our first Mexican Lunch. I'm not sure what we had other than it was some kind of taco & Corona Beer. Oops forgot, had to add the lime! Ventured on to Playacar and got a first-hand look at Lori's condo. We were greeted at the door by Jeter (now more brown than black) Mya, (Lori's Mexican Greyhound) and NutNut (the name says it all). Sat around outside on Lori's deck/balcony that nite. Got to enjoy some real peace and quiet. Even saw my first and only "coatie". I think Kim missed it.

Monday we got Lori up early (probably 10:00) and headed to Xcaret. We had sun & rain but it didn't really matter cause it was warm. This is an eco-system preserve. One day just wasn't enough. We saw lots but missed lots....Jaguar, Puma, Spider Monkey Island. The Coral Reef Aquarium was very informative and visual. Even got Kim to enter the "Bat Cave". Got caught in the rain on the Tropical Jungle Trail...I was OK though cause I had my "Bucket Hat". Lori was OK too cause her hair just frizzed and kept the rain off. Haha, guess Kim was soaked. Had Coconut Shrimp & other Mexican food, again right by the Ocean. Kim & Lori talked me into floating (I think not, it involved alot of swimming or else we'd still be there) down the underground river. Thank goodness they provide life jackets. Just entering the water was freaky. Your heading downwards and the start of the river has walls about 35 high & 10 feet wide. (Remember I'm clautophobic) Actually being in the cave was better than the open air part. Just had to admire some of the limestone formations on the ceiling as well as fossils on the walls. Although we had snorkel equipment there was no way I was sticking my head in the water and wondering which wall I was going to ram into cause I didn't know where I was going. Went thru some temple-shrine as well as caves & jungle roots, only to end up where we could actually snorkel. Bird Paradise was next on the list. Had the parrot sit on my arm and-d-d-d my head, I can't believe it, but come to think of it, I actually have a picture & there is no foreign material on my head, unlike what Lori & Kim were trying to get me to believe. There was huge sea turtles, sharks, dolphins, rays....
Loved the Maya Village & Villagers selling their native art/bracelets. They are short little people and so are their huts.
And now we have lots of rain falling. That's ok though cause we have to make arrangements for the nite show and even though it is open-air it is covered. The Mexican Spectacular was just that. Started with the native cleansing rituals, continued on their ancient pok-a-pok game and Mexican Hockey Game (primative sticks with a woven reed fire ball). The second part included customs/costumes from the 31 provinces of Mexico...the colors, the music, their dances....Truly a night to remember.
To Be Continued...
