Here goes nothing...

The computer is about to be unhooked in less than an hour so i thought i should make one last post.

It feels... uh... still unreal. Linc just had his last day of work today and I think it still hasn't really hit us, that this is really happening. I suppose that will happen when we hit the road with Lolita.

We're almost done packing. And the van is VERY full. Looks like she is going to hold the weight well. We'll be going for a quick cruise tonight to be sure. Sending off the last of the emails while Linc gets in one last TV show before that hits the van too. He will be going thru withdrawls quickly, I'm sure.

Well... I should run. Still have alot to do. I'll be keeping connie updated from the road.

Mom & Dad: Are thinking of selling everything, spending some time in Regina with Kim, Bill & Addyson, flying to Calgary to check on Darin for a few days, then driving to Houston and taking-up part-time residence at Connie & Gavin's and then finally go on a holiday to Playa del Carmen in Mexico (look-out L&L). When this sequence is completed we start all over. Sounds like a good plan.

Lori & Lincoln: They might be leaving tomorrow, but they are going to miss -30 C with wind chills and have to put up with +30 C with hurricane winds. The advantage they will have is they will have ample Vitamin D unlike the rest of us Canadians north of the 49th.

Kim, Bill & Addy: Leaving....on a jet plane. Who sang that anyways? It's just a visit, they aren't moving South.

Darin: He's given new meaning to "Hot Wheels" dinky cars. He now has the real mccoy. Make sure you don't get too many speeding tickets.

Glad to see Lori decided she should stay home today and pack. I also stayed home today, SICK. Ya, I know everybody feels sorry for me. I take it the wheels are ready to roll. What time do you plan on leaving Saturday? You can still change your minds, you know.

Even tho I offically I have not finished work today... I am counting 1 day of work left as Mr. Corporate!
The condo is being packed as we speak... and for the first time in a long time I have not harped on Lori to clean up! haha I hope we can fit most of it in Lolita... she will be a little bottom heavy to say the least.
I know we posted that we had met our year 1 goal of shoooting 1 wedding/month and had 12 bookings... but things have been going so well for us latelty! We get constant requests for our services and the website has been steadily growing... thanks a lot to MY good ideas and ME driving Lori to update our site! haha Ok... she is the sole webmaster... and does a fantastic job making our new ideas come to life. I asked her last night to do another count and our confirmed wedding list is now at 22! WOW!!! We have offically dropped off all our small packages and soon will be only listing full weddings with all the extras for a new price.
This has been fantastic... and I think for next year our goal will be to replace both our salaries as IT professionals!
We are also going to make 50,000 of unexpected income in the next aprox 40 days! How... I dunno... not my problem... we just have to be open to it.

Bet you never thought two years ago you'd be packing up two households and in your case, two kids, and jumping in your new found mini-motorhome and heading for your new home in Mexico. It all sounds out-of-the-movies style. Maybe National Lampoon had a really big impact on you when you watched it. Whatever way it might be, we're thinking of you and wishing you luck and always remember you always have a second home in Medicine Hat and that would be Alberta, Canada. Luy Ya Guys. Mom & Dad.

Started packing Lolita tonight. Wow... she's gonna be packed real tight! We're doing a good job.

So, we got in alot of the heavy stuff... then Link hears an air leak. Sounded like our new air suspension kit has spurt a leak. Phew.... wasn't us. It was the neighbour car with a screw or something in her tire. Could you imagine if our "luck" started that early! Yikes.

Anyway, we've got alot of stuff in there already, and still 3/4's the space. We're still thinking positive about what will fit, but we'll see.

Hi fam

Well well... Things are happenin' here in my world. Obviously, same ol' Mexico news. I just CAN NOT believe this is actually happening!!! Linc has started his countdown of days of work left. Only 10!!! Oh my god. I will start mine soon too. It will come and go so fast!

Just to let you know, we have reached our goal for the year. Booking 12 weddings between April and Dec 2009 is what we have calculated to be getting by in Mexico. Well, we've done that. Just received our 12th deposit last night. And... most of those weddings are in the first 3 months. We still have lots of free time during the rest of the year. And Let me tell you, price requests are still coming in fast and furious. Our name is getting out there, already! I can't imagine how things will boom after our next wedding. We have learnt some things in our previous weddings that will keep our packages improving shoot after shoot. This is so exciting for me! I feel like I have really figured out what my dream is... and I'm about to live it.

Also, don't get me wrong... it's pretty scary... obviously. I'm sure you all know the feeling.

Our going away party is Feb 20th. Dar... I guess you'll be the only one possibly making an appearance.

Kim, leave it to Addyson. Looks like she might be reading before she's potty trained. I would sure like to know where she got the book idea in the first place. Can't be from Sesame Street....I noticed it's a magazine and not a child's book. Pretty soon we get to spoil her again. Can't wait!

Exciting News

Wow! New Wheels Darin. She looks pretty hot! Can't wait to see it. Probably this week, I hope. Hope there wasn't too many tears shed while parting the Blue Babe.

Well, I am also working on my spanish. Now, maybe I know 2 words (or maybe I got these wrong)! Anyhow, we are just getting ready for our trip to Mexico. I'll post schedule later. But, we're heading to Puerto Vallarta so I can see some whales! And, I don't mean the beached type if you get what I'm saying.

Well, Dar, the car is awesome. It should do you well and cheap on gas compared to the 'vertible. Good luck liar, liar at the poly.

Oh, more news from me:
- Linc and I are driving down to Playa Feb 28
- con, We'll be in Houston around March 3 for a couple days.
- then off for the adventure through Mexico!!!
- Linc is going to stay there. One of us needs to go a month early to submit paperwork for the working Visa.
- I'll be flying back to Calgary to work for a few more weeks
- Then flying back to Playa to shoot weddings..... and live in our new home!!! In Mexico!!! Whoohoo!!!

Well I have finally decided to hang up the keys for the convertible, and upgrade to something that works. 07 Civic SI, car has like 40k on it, so I think this will last me a long long time. Anyways here is a pic of her, so you can all be jealous.





Oh ya I slipped on ice, thats why the back of the car is not in the pic. Anyways, one other piece of interesting news that will be happening soon, is my polygraph is scheduled for Feb 19. So I guess we will see what happens.
